Sandy is a member of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia.  She studied Acupuncture at PCU College of Holistic Medicine in Burnaby, British Columbia.   Her studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) incorporated both Eastern and Western Medicine including:

 

• TCM Theory, History of TCM, TCM Diagnosis, Meridians & Acupoints, Qi Gong, Chinese Pin Yin, Herbology, Acupuncture Therapy, Acupressure, TCM Regulation & Safety, Clean Needling Techniques & Safety, TCM Case Studies, TCM Orthopedics & Traumatology, Advanced Acupuncture Studies, Shi Lao (Chinese Food Therapy), Clinical Practice & Internship, and more much

Prior to studying Traditional Chinese Medicine, Sandy worked in the insurance industry for 20+ years.  When it came time to start her family, she never dreamed that she would have any difficulty conceiving.  As is the case with most couples, Sandy & her husband tried everything Western Medicine had to offer for fertility.  Finally after years of failed attempts utilizing Western Medicine and being told she should be able to conceive, Sandy was given a recommedation from a midwife to try acupuncture.  Not expecting much, Sandy and her husband, tried Acupuncture.  After four weeks of treatment and much to her surprise Sandy conceived!  Sandy continued her Acupuncture treatments throughout her pregnancy (and future pregnancies) and now has two healthy, happy sons!

 

After having such success with Acupuncture, Sandy made the decision to leave her career in the insurance industry and pursue her studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine.  She hopes to help others through the positive benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine specifically Acupuncture.  She strives to encourage people to be open to trying Acupuncture and approaching their healthcare from a different point of view.
